Fast, Focused Solutions When You Need Them

A Tailored Workshop is a perfect solution when you need a quick fix to a single language problem. Maybe you have a presentation next week and you’re not confident using the Future Tenses correctly. Maybe Conditionals have always confused you and they keep letting you down in proposals. Maybe you need to master the language of Polite Disagreement before tomorrow’s negotiation. Maybe Phrasal Verbs are giving you a hard time and you’re tired of it.

You don’t have months to work through a complete course. You have a specific problem that’s getting in your way, and you need a targeted solution fast. This is where a Tailored Workshop can help you.

What a Tailored Workshop Is

A Tailored Workshop is intensive, focused training on one specific area of English. It could be a single two-hour session, or a short series of up to five sessions if the topic needs more depth. Either way, the entire focus is on solving your particular challenge.

We won’t be covering everything about business English or working through a general curriculum. We’ll be looking into the exact grammar structure, vocabulary set, or functional skill that’s giving you trouble right now, and we’ll be working on it until you’ve got it.

What We Can Work On

The workshops can address almost any specific language challenge you’re facing. Here are some examples of what people commonly request:

Grammar structures: English tenses, conditionals, passive voice, reported speech, modal verbs, relative clauses, sequence of tenses, -ING forms, prepositions – whatever structure keeps showing up incorrectly in your writing or speech.

Vocabulary sets: Phrasal verbs for business, collocations that make you sound natural, idiomatic expressions, industry-specific terminology, connecting words that make your arguments flow, hedging language for diplomatic communication.

Functional skills: How to express disagreement without causing offense, making suggestions persuasively, giving and receiving feedback, handling complaints, small talk and relationship building, asking clarifying questions, expressing opinions with appropriate strength.

Customized workshops: If there’s a specific gap affecting your performance, we can build a workshop around it.

How It Works

You can choose from my library of ready-made workshops on common challenges: I’ve already developed focused sessions on the topics that come up most frequently for business professionals. These are tested, refined, and ready to go.

Or, if your need is more specific to your situation, we can create a customized workshop. You can tell me exactly what you’re struggling with, what context you need to use it in, and what’s at stake. I’ll design a session that addresses your precise need with examples and practice scenarios drawn from your actual work.

Either way, the structure is the same: clear explanation of the concept or language point, followed by concentrated practice. We don’t just talk about it theoretically. You use it, repeatedly, in contexts that matter to you, until it starts feeling automatic.

The practice is active and immediate. If we’re working on Conditionals, you’re creating conditional sentences about your real projects and decisions. If we’re working on Disagreement language, you’re practicing disagreeing with me in simulated meeting scenarios. If we’re working on Phrasal Verbs, you’re using them in actual business contexts, not abstract exercises.

When This Format Makes Sense

Tailored Workshops are perfect when you’re facing an urgent situation. You have an important meeting coming up and you need to sound confident using specific language. You’re about to submit an important proposal and you want to make sure your grammar doesn’t undermine your credibility. You’re starting a new role where you’ll need skills you haven’t used before.

They’re also valuable when you’ve identified a specific weakness that keeps causing problems. Maybe every time you try to use the Present Perfect, it comes out wrong and you know it. Maybe you avoid using Passive Voice entirely because you’re not sure how it works, but that’s making your writing sound awkward. Maybe you can never remember how to soften your statements appropriately, so you either sound too direct or too uncertain.

This format lets you tackle that one thing, get it sorted, and move forward without committing to a long-term program when that’s not what you need.

What Makes This Effective

The power of the workshop format is in its intensity and focus. You’re not spreading your attention across multiple topics or trying to absorb a little bit about everything. You’re going deep on one area, which means you actually master it rather than just getting a surface introduction.

The concentrated practice creates rapid improvement. By the end of even a single session, you’ll notice a difference in your confidence and accuracy with that particular skill. After a short series, the language or structure you were struggling with will feel significantly more accessible.

There’s also something powerful about addressing a challenge you’ve been carrying for a while. Maybe you’ve been avoiding certain structures or situations because you weren’t confident. Now you’ve tackled it directly, practiced it thoroughly, and you don’t have to avoid it anymore. That opens up new possibilities in how you communicate.

The Results You Can Expect

After a Tailored Workshop, that specific gap that was affecting your performance is either closed or significantly reduced. You understand the concept clearly. You’ve practiced it enough that it’s starting to feel natural. You have concrete examples and frameworks you can refer back to if you need them.

More importantly, you can actually use what you learned immediately. This isn’t theoretical knowledge you hope to apply someday, but a practical skill you can deploy in tomorrow’s meeting, next week’s presentation, or the email you need to write this afternoon.

You’ll feel more confident in situations where that particular language comes up. You’ll communicate more effectively because you’re not working around a gap anymore: you’ve filled it.

Getting Started

If you have a challenge you need to address quickly, reach out and tell me what you’re dealing with. We’ll determine whether an existing workshop fits your need or if we should create something custom. Then we’ll schedule it for whenever you need it, even on short notice if the situation is urgent.

Sometimes the best solution isn’t a comprehensive program but just fixing the one thing that’s been getting in your way, so you can move forward with confidence.
